Position Overview
The Event Sales Manager is responsible for selling and servicing events. Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and include menu planning, agenda setting, and hotel meeting services. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during, and post-event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.
The Event Sales Manager also hosts hotel tours, maintains strong customer relationships, participates and may lead event meetings and other staff meetings, and works as a team member with the sales and events staff. The manager also works closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.
This position has a salary range from $64,848-$78,700.

Qualifications
Outstanding customer service skills and ability to engage with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Excellent communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, sell, and influence clients and meeting attendees.
Knowledge of event planning/hospitality principles and practices.
Ability to travel to area businesses and accounts to solicit new business as needed.
Ability to make decisions based on established policies and procedures and guidance from leadership.
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying inquiries made by guests, staff, and corporate officers.
Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
Ability to manage sensitive material with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
Must be energetic, an initiative-taker, and able to work in a demanding environment.
Must be meticulous and able to work both independently and with a team.
Must be effective in managing problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems, as necessary.
Must be able to show initiative, including participating in guests and/or operational needs.
Must be able to maintain standards of attendance and punctuality and must be able to work varying schedules that include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
